A compact, low-cost hardware evaluation platform, the amazing BeMicro development kit simplifies designs for broad range of embedded applications. Using system-on-a-programmable chip (SOPC) methodology, the BeMicro is a USB stick form factor so it plugs into virtually and PC or USB hub.
Even if you have little or no experience designing with FPGAs, you can now enjoy all the benefits that this savvy technology brings to your designs.
A Complete FPGA Evaluation System in the Palm of Your Hands
Featuring an Altera Cyclone® III FPGA, the BeMicro not only integrates seamlessly into both the Quartus® II FPGA design framework and the NIOS® II GNU-based development environment, but it is powerful enough to accommodate complex embedded systems.
In addition to the FPGA, the board contains a voltage regulator, memory, a clock generator, and eight freely assignable LEDs enabling states to be clearly displayed.

BeMicro Optional Features
The housing of BeMico can easily be opened. So, an additional component can be soldered onto the PCB. The layout of the board is prepared for:
- Serial Configuration FLASH - Altera EPCS4SI8N
This serial FLASH can be used for to store the configuration data for the FPGA. When plugging-in the BeMicro stick, this configuration can be loaded into the FPGA automatically. This leads to two different possibilities. First, a BeMicro stick can be used for software development without the need to download the hardware configuration before. Second, BeMicro can be operated without a USB connection to the PC. In this specific configuration, the BeMicro is powered from an external 5V supply via the expansion connector.
